Activities

The White Mountains of Arizona offer a plethora of outdoor activities. The climate varies from cool springs and mild summers, for golfing, fishing, biking, hiking, horseback riding, to snowy winters great for skiing, snowmobiling, sledding, ice fishing, and snowman building. Rainbow and Brown Trout and Bass fill nearby lakes. An extensive trail system provides great hiking and nature viewing. Sunrise Ski Resort is just a 20 minute drive from our cabin offering full services and everything from beginner to expert terrain.

Pinetop and nearby areas are rich with history and diverse culture. The Apache/Sitgreaves National Forest and the Fort Apache Indian Reservation surround this early pioneering country. There is much to explore. The Ponderosa pine trees can reach over 100 feet into the sky in this forest. This is a magical land, no matter the weather. Come play and relax!

For more information on all of the activities listed below visit the Pinetop/Lakeside Town website, the Pinetop/Lakeside Chamber of Commerce website, and the Reservation Website.

Restaurants in the Pinetop Area are diverse. One can find just about any cuisine they desire.
The restaurants listed below are just a few of our favorites:

  • Charlie Clarks: Great steakhouse that dates back to 1938.
1701 E White Mountain Blvd, at the intersection of Penrod. 928-367-1514.
  • Munich Haus: Stellar German restaurant with the best beer
    selection in the state.
1443 E Fir Lane. Turn down Penrod between Charlie Clarks
and Eddie’s Country Store and turn right on Fir Lane. 928-367-4287.
  • La Casita: Small, good quality, Mexican Food restaurant.
5000 S White Mountain Rd. Located in Show Low, this is a little ways from the cabin, but worth it. It is located at the top of its parking lot, set back from the road, on top of a small hill. 928-537-5179.
  • The Pasta House: Great pasta selection. If you like garlic, this small
white house, nestled under a large willow tree is the place for you.
2188 E White Mountain Blvd. Just a block or two away from the intersection at the Circle K. 928-367-2782.

You also have the wonderful option of staying at home and cooking your own feast
in our gourmet kitchen. Below are two grocery stores near the cabin:

  • Eddie’s Country Store: A small grocery story with many unique, local specialty items, and a great butcher. A little pricier than the larger grocery stores.
1753 E White Mountain Blvd, at the intersection of Penrod. 928-367-2161.
  • Safeway: A large chain grocery store with a good selection of everything.
20 W White Mountain Blvd. Located about 10 minutes from the cabin, in the town of Lakeside. 928-367-5442.
